Vikalpa is a citizen journalism initiative located in Sri Lanka. It aims to explore the hidden facets of democracy and governance in Sri Lanka.
It works in the Sinhala and Tamil languages and features alternative narratives on conflict transformation, democracy, good governance and peace in Sri Lanka. It promotes key voices and opinions of citizens rarely featured in vernacular traditional media. It also has a YouTube channel. The videos include materials relating to corruption, presidential and parliamentary elections, democracy and civil liberties in Sri Lanka and are extremely popular.
